A touch of Heaven

"Young Madam, you're really…"1

"Yes, Miriam." Heaven grinned, watching all the maids move her stuff into Dominic's room. "Dom and I agreed to sleep in the same room. After all, last night was… amazing."

Miriam's face turned red while Heaven's teasing grin stretched even more.

"I'm teasing you." Heaven poked Miriam playfully. "Anyway, this isn't really surprising, right? We are married and we're also raising a child."

"Yes." Miriam smiled warmly. "Young Madam, just tell us where to put your stuff. I'll help."

"Mhm." Heaven and Miriam stepped aside from the door as the servants brought more things from her room to Dominic's. "Right. This one right here, you can just put it there."

Heaven busied herself helping the servants organize, taking down notes from time to time. Dominic's room was too manly and plain for her taste. There were only at least three colors that could be seen in his room, making it too elegantly gloomy for her eyes.

Heaven thought of adding more colors. Since this would be her room from now on, it was better if she added more colors to it. In that case, she would grow on him more effectively.

As everyone was busy, Mrs. Deng stood in the distance. She was watching the servants help Heaven, and her frown grew deeper and deeper. She heard that Heaven and the master slept in one room. This surprised every single soul in the mansion, except Mrs. Deng. Mrs. Deng was more frustrated than surprised.

'This vixen…' she ground her teeth, staring daggers at the master's bedroom. 'How dare she seduce the master?' — more than her anger toward Heaven, Mrs. Deng was more disappointed in Dominic.

Why was the master so easy?

One fact remained. Heaven abused him in the past five years. How could he forget that? There was nothing more frustrating than seeing Dominic welcoming everything from Heaven. Be it maltreatment or pretentious gestures — it was upsetting!

'Whatever your plans are, I'll make sure to uncover them all!' Mrs. Deng pledged in her heart. 'Even if you were able to get the master under your thumb, not me! Just wait, Heaven Liu. It won't be as easy as you think it will be!'

It almost took an entire day to move and organize Heaven's stuff. She didn't just point at things but personally helped to give the room her own touch. So when they finished, she told all the servants to have snacks prepared by the chef — a snack she requested for the servants.

"It's not bad." Standing in the middle of the room all alone, Heaven looked around. A satisfied smile dominated her face, nodding in satisfaction. "I should buy more things so it will look more cute?"

Her lips stretched from ear to ear, marching toward the bathroom. She stayed by the door, checking her toiletries with his stuff.

"See, Heaven? It isn't bad." Heaven closed the door, turning around to appreciate the room again. "It's not that hard, and it isn't as bad as you thought it was. If anything, it feels… good."

Good was an understatement.

Heaven couldn't put the satisfaction in her heart into words. "Fortunately, I resorted to being proactive. If not, I think it'll take me years — or never to make progress." Dominic was quite passive, after all.

But then again, she couldn't blame Dominic. His passiveness had its perks because it gave her room to do what she wanted. The only downside of his behavior — if that was even considered a downside — was he wouldn't take advantage of her.

"Well, he is a gentleman." She pouted. "Being a gentleman should be better than having a flirt and a pervert husband."

Her frown deepened. Deep in her heart, she wished he was a bit more flirtatious to add spice to her conquest.

"Hay… Heaven. Don't let your disturbing thoughts dominate you." Heaven waved dismissively, marching toward the door as she had to prepare for dinner. She thought she would start making Dominic food. In that case, she would be reassured everything he was eating was safe. Moreover, she could enhance her cooking skills once she prepared her son's food as well.

Whoever murdered her could be in this house. Even if the target was Heaven, she couldn't just be complacent. Anything could happen, and she would let no one interfere with this new life, especially now that she was just starting.

[LYON GROUP BUILDING: CEO's OFFICE]

"Mhm. I see." Dominic was talking on the phone. "It's alright — she's alright. No. It's not true."

He stayed quiet as the other person on the line spoke.

"No. I'll pick him up. Thanks, Mom." He listened for quite a bit before bidding his mother goodbye, hanging up the phone.

Just now, his mother called after hearing the news of his divorce and Grandma Zhu's fainting.

Grandma Zhu told his parents she heard a strange rumor. His parents called to confirm, which Dominic denied. His mom then went on to lecture him before telling him when they would return. Grandma Zhu likely scared his parents, which is why they didn't come home quickly.

Grandma Zhu disliked disturbing others. She knew Sebastian was on a vacation and this was the only time Heaven and Dominic had time alone. She was probably hoping Heaven and Dominic could use this time to make another child.

"How ludicrous." Dominic checked the time. It was almost seven in the evening. Although he told Heaven he would come home at eight, Dominic told his assistant to clear his schedule from seven onwards.

"One hour," he murmured, fixing his eyes on the clock. "One hour left before eight."

Dominic reclined against the swivel chair, eyes shut. He stayed in his office for the next thirty minutes, reserving all the energy he could, so he had the strength to deal with his capricious wife. When thirty minutes rolled in, he didn't waste time and went home. The house to the office was only fifteen minutes drive away. Thus, he thought he could use the spare fifteen minutes to have a sincere talk with her.

A heart-to-heart talk so she could stop whatever she was planning to do.

But alas… there was no need to because as soon as he came home, he almost didn't recognize his room.
