[Bonus chapter]Dancing in the devil's tune

"Or rather, while I was trapped in the wine cellar, I had a change of plans. I can't only use you to bring him down. To be fair, I think it's much better to kill you, especially now that his wife had changed. Killing you might not affect his reputation, but for sure, losing his beloved wife will definitely scar him for life."2

Andrea's revised plan was almost perfect. Framing Dominic Zhu was the only way to hurt him. After all, Dominic and Heaven's relationship was almost in ruins. It was already in shambles right from the beginning. This knowledge, however, was something Andrea wasn't aware of until she stepped foot in the residence.

In other words, she had another plan — the original plan before she came to know Heaven and Dominic didn't have that sort of relationship.

"My only goal is to hurt him," Andrea added, sneering. "Back then, I know your death will not hurt him. Watching you three be happy has made me reconsider my original plan."

She shook her head while maintaining eye contact. "Now, they will understand what it is like to lose a loved one."

The moment those words rolled out of Andrea's tongue, she leaped to attack Heaven. As soon as Andrea made her move, Heaven took out a handful of spoons and threw them at her attacker.

Andrea shielded herself with her arm, scowling as Heaven tried to run away.

"No, you don't!" yelled Andrea through her gritted teeth, running after Heaven. "Come here!"

Heaven tried to run for her life, but the shard of glass stuck in her sole slowed her down. She didn't even get that far because a hand grabbed her hair just when she reached the end of the counter.

"Ugh!!" Heaven held Andrea's hand while the latter was grabbing her hair, wincing.

"Where are you going, huh?" Andrea laughed at how pitiful Heaven was at this moment. She dragged Heaven by the hair, turning the latter around before pinning her against the counter.

Heaven's breath hitched as Andrea pressed the sharp knife against her neck. Her upper body was bent back on the counter, staring at Andrea's sinister smirk hovering over her.

"Look at you," Andrea mocked, assessing the fear dominating Heaven's face. "You look so arrogant last night and even this morning. Hah! It's almost funny that I got intimated. Surely, you are a talented actress for making others believe you are someone you are not."

Heaven's neck turned taut as she held her breath. "I'm — I'm sorry…" her lips quivered, gripping the edge of the counter with her fingers feeling the drawers. She was certain the drawers here had knives and not just spoons.

"Sorry?" Andrea laughed, having fun tormenting Heaven. "You weren't that sorry earlier, though."

After what Heaven put her through, Andrea felt this sense of satisfaction having Heaven under her. Not only did Heaven tie her up and hurt her, she even mocked her life story. Not that Andrea was expecting Heaven to cry at her sob story, but at least she didn't want Heaven to laugh at it.

Heaven didn't laugh at her story, though. However, Andrea felt humiliated by Heaven's indifference.

"Please, please, please…" Heaven begged under her breath, shivering underneath Andrea. "… please don't kill me. I'm sorry for doing that to you — please don't kill me. I'll give you whatever you want, just please, put that knife away…"

A layer of tears coated Heaven's eyes, looking all pathetic and desperate. The sight of her was… phenomenal. Andrea laughed airily, amused at how this woman was begging for her life. Surely, even the wife of the most wealthy and influential man in the country would beg for their life if they encounter such a sadistic situation.

"I wonder what look Dominic will have once I tell him how his wife begged for her life…" Andrea trailed off when Heaven's quivering lips stopped before its corners curled up into a cunning smirk.

Looking up to see Heaven's eyes, Andrea couldn't help but drew her head back to see the entirety of Heaven's face.

Heaven was smirking, seemingly holding back her laughter.

"Please… don't kill me," Heaven repeated in the same pleading tone, but her eyelids drooped to hide the menacing glint flickering across her eyes. "Have mercy — I did nothing wrong. Please… is that what you're expecting to hear from me? Wow… you are so fucking predictable."

The fear that was dominating Heaven's face disappeared without a trace as if it was simply a fragment of Andrea's imagination. All that was left on Heaven's countenance was coldness as if the knife in her neck didn't bother her. Or rather, the situation didn't scare her a bit, as if she had been waiting for it.

No…

"I was worried your dumb ass will not see the glass under the shelf." Andrea's eyes went wide as soon as Heaven quietly mentioned the piece of glass Andrea used to free herself. "But well, I commend you for freeing yourself. It must be painful to sever the ropes while it tightens around you. Normally, people will die before they can free themselves. Mad respect."

"You —" Andrea suddenly felt a dread creep up her spine, realizing she was dancing to the soundless tune of the devil. She pushed herself away from Heaven on instinct, but to no avail.

Heaven sat up and swiftly grabbed Andrea's hand that was holding the knife, placing it back in her stomach. Andrea tugged her hand back, but Heaven didn't budge.

"What… what are you doing?" Andrea's voice shook just like her eyes, looking back at the devil in front of her.

"I'm trying to help." Heaven batted her eyes ever so tenderly. "Didn't you say you will cut me?"

Crazy… this woman was crazy.

"Did you just think I'm crazy?" Heaven laughed, making Andrea's breath hitch at her accurate guess.

"It's written all over your face," explained Heaven, chuckling. "But yeah, you're right. I am crazy."

Heaven moved her face closer while her smile line faded, stressing her next words, "I warned you beforehand. Your second biggest mistake is underestimating me. You don't have any idea of what I am capable of and it's not a lie when I said you should be grateful I changed — well, trying to."

"Take my advice and behave. Don't make me come at you with an intent to kill you because if I do, I guarantee you… you'll know every meaning of the word regret," she added quietly, drawing her head back while keeping her unsmiling countenance.

Heaven took a deep breath before her expression changed once again. How her expression changed from an emotionless one to something, as if she was scared for her life, rendered Andrea speechless. Before Andrea knew it, a piercing scream rang in her ear.

"Kya!!!!" Andrew almost jolted when Heaven screamed her lungs out, but before she could grasp the situation, Heaven flashed her a sweet smile.

RIPPED.

Confused at Heaven's plan, Andrea froze on the spot when Heaven suddenly pulled Andrea's hand that was holding the knife, stabbing herself right in the stomach. This time, Andrea's world slowed down as she unblinkingly watched Heaven smirk for a moment.

'I shouldn't have... crossed her.'
