Keep it off the record
Bear didn't waste a second as soon as he heard the scream. He had heard all types of screams all his life. Thus, he could differentiate whether it was a scream for help or something from pain. This one was both.0
Knowing this fact, Bear quickly went to where he heard that scream. Even though there wasn't a second scream, he already knew where it came from.
The kitchen.
Bear's pair of silver eyes shone the closer he was to the kitchen, expecting the worse. And he wasn't wrong. The situation was… bad.
"Madam!" Bear stopped by the entrance, holding his breath as he darted his eyes between the two people in the kitchen. It was a maid and the madam.
Assessing the situation from the side, Heaven was leaning against the counter, wincing while her entire body was trembling before the person in front of her. Bear's eyes fell on Heaven's hand, only to see them holding her stomach to stop her bleeding.
'No…'
Bear's eyes slowly went wide as he shifted his eyes to the other person. The maid was just staring blankly at Heaven as if she had just realized what she did.
"You!" Bear huffed, and before Andrea knew it, he disappeared from his vantage point, only to reappear right beside Andrea. He kicked Andrea's hip, causing the latter to fly to the corner of the kitchen.
"Ah!" Andrea didn't realize Bear's presence until her body crushed into the wall. The pain snapped her out of her daze before it made her feel so dizzy. Andrea slowly turned her head, only to see Bear standing in front of Heaven worriedly.
"Hurts…" Heaven whimpered under her breath, looking at Bear with desperation. "… help me…"
Bear held his breath as Heaven clutched his shoulders without regard for the blood in her hands.
"It… hurts…" Heaven hung her head low, keeping her other hand on her wound. "Please… don't kill me."
'Nonsense.' Andrea almost laughed at the award-winning act of that woman, but she couldn't. All Andrea could do was watch everything unfold and wonder just how deep of a hole did Heaven dig for her.
"Madam." Bear shook his head mildly, setting his eyes on Heaven's wound. Seizing Andrea was a priority, but Heaven was hurt. Therefore, he completely ignored Andrea, even if the latter would run away.
"Security!!!" Bear screamed, taking out a walkie-talkie to alert the guards in the mansion. "Call for an ambulance — the madam is hurt!"
Bear then pulled the knife and pressed Heaven's stomach. Heaven rested her forehead on his shoulder, barely hanging on to consciousness.
"Madam… please don't sleep," he remarked calmly, giving an entire thirty seconds for everyone to come here. If someone still hadn't come in thirty seconds, Bear had to decide to rush her to the infirmary instead of seizing Andrea.

"Security!!!" Dominic paused as soon as he heard Bear's shout. "Call for an ambulance!! The madam is hurt!!"
Dominic's entire body froze as his pupils dilated. Did he hear Bear correctly? Someone hurt heaven? Dominic was only a few steps from the kitchen, but panic and fear instantly swelled in his chest.
'No,' he whispered in his heart, dragging his feet to see what was happening in the kitchen. The moment he arrived, Dominic darted his eyes at the people in the kitchen.
His eyes first landed on the person lying on the side, unconscious. And then Dominic shifted his eyes to Heaven. Her back was facing him, but he could see Bear bending in front of her while her forehead was on his shoulder.
"What is… going on?" Dominic's breath hitched as soon as he caught Heaven's other hand dropped to her side. His entire world literally stopped, seeing how her hand was covered with blood.
"Madam!" Bear yelled, shaking her body slightly. "Madam!"
Before the thirty-second mark Bear set in his mind, security came. Some servants also arrived in a hurry to check what was happening. Much to their dismay, it was something no one ever expected. Especially when the lights were switched on. All they saw was blood all over the place.

"Don't worry, Mr. Zhu. The stab wasn't deep and the stitches wouldn't scar. However, considering how she got her wounds, it'll be best if she visits a trauma therapist. I will recommend you to the best therapist I know…"
Dominic was sitting beside the bed, recalling the doctor's remarks. His face was grim, eyes fixed on his unconscious wife lying on the hospital bed.
'I should've insisted on getting her a glass of water,'he told himself, gripping his hands between his thighs. 'If only I did, she wouldn't get hurt.'
It wasn't long ago since Heaven fainted and the two of them were in this exact situation. The only difference this time was, Heaven was lying on this bed because someone almost killed her. Dominic was still unsure of what happened, leaving the investigation and interrogation with the police.
Knock Knock.
A knock from outside caressed his ears, but Dominic didn't respond. He didn't even look back even after hearing the door slid open and closed.
"Sir." Dane cleared his throat, stopping a few steps behind Dominic's chair. Dane was still in a casual shirt and pants, displaying how he rushed here as soon as he heard what happened. He glanced at Heaven and sighed, shifting his attention to Dominic's back.
"Did she speak?" asked Dominic under his breath.
"They were still in the middle of an interrogation, but it seemed the suspect doesn't have the intention to speak," reported Dane with a heavy heart. "It'll take some time."
"She doesn't want to speak?" Dominic repeated, turning his head to face his assistant.
Dane lowered his head, unable to hold his boss' menacing gaze. "Yes."
"I see." Dominic rocked his head, setting his eyes back to his wife. Another layer of frost coated his eyes, making one wonder what was going on in his head. "How about Basti?"
"Miriam stayed with him, so he was safe. However, it seemed he had already heard what happened to his mother. Miriam said he was throwing a huge tantrum to see her."
"I see. Call Basti and tell him I told him to be patient. Heaven would be very unhappy if he didn't get his act together." Dominic closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. "And tell the chief that I would like a word with that person who hurt my wife."
A glint flickered across Dominic's cold eyes, barely keeping his tumultuous heart at bay. "Keep it off the record."
