[Bonus chapter]Birds of a same feather
"Grandma?" Dominic furrowed his brows as he immediately got up from the edge of the bed. His surprise took Heaven's attention, telling her Dominic was unaware of this visit. 0
Even Heaven was surprised herself, knowing the Old Madam Zhu rarely go out of the old residence. If she did, it meant it was very important. Therefore, she didn't expect her to come. She knew the Zhu Family would hear about the incident, but she expected they wouldn't make a huge fuss if Dominic told them off.
How could she forget there was only one person in the family that would never listen to Dominic?
Dominic rushed to the entrance to assist his grandmother. Old Madam Zhu came in slowly, coming with her cane instead of a wheelchair. Her back was naturally bent forward as she walked, so Dominic had to offer his arm for her other hand to cling on.
"Grandma, why did you –"
"How can I sit still in my home when I know my little Heaven was hurt?" Old Madam Zhu hissed at Dominic, but when she faced Heaven, her face instantly softened. "My poor girl. Bless the heavens that you are safe! How can you let such a wicked person come close to her?!"
Old Madam Zhu glared at Dominic again, while the latter could only slide his eyes to the corner. "This person must think so little of our Zhu family! Unforgivable!"
"Grandma." Heaven's face softened as she watched the old woman sit on the edge of the bed.
"Oh, dear." Old Madam Zhu sighed as her eyes scanned Heaven from up and down. "Oh, dear. I don't know what to say."
She reached for Heaven's hand, cradling it gently. "How are you feeling, my child?"
"I'm okay now, Grandma. The wound is not that deep, thankfully." Heaven smiled warmly, holding back the old grandma's wrinkly hand.
"My child, how can you say thankfully? Don't worry. Grandma will teach everyone a lesson."
"Butler Fu, why didn't you tell me that Grandma will visit?" Standing on the side of the bed was Dominic, frowning, eyes on the butler carrying in the countless gifts and flowers Old Madam Zhu brought for Heaven.
"Leave Butler Fu alone." Old Madam Zhu glared at Dominic. "Someone hurt little Heaven in her own home. Even if Butler Fu lay in my way to stop me, I'll step on him like a rug!"
"Grandma... that is not the point. Heaven will be in a difficult position if something happened."
"What else can happen? Is there something that will make this situation even worse?" Old Madam Zhu huffed before she faced Heaven, caressing her cheek. "Goodness. Look at her. Have you been eating well? Did you lose some weight?"
"Haha. Grandma. I'm eating really, really well." Heaven grinned as she excitedly held the elder's hand. "Dom is just feeding me when you came. He's really nice and takes care of me very well."
Heaven tipped her head down, making Old Madam Zhu gaze down at the plate between them. "I appreciate that Grandma came to visit, but is it alright for you to go out?"
"Of course! I'm still healthy!" Old Madam Zhu boasted, tapping Heaven's hand. "Grandma bought you ointments and teas to help with your recovery. Butler Fu, bring out the lunch for my little Heaven. It's almost lunchtime."
"She just ate." Dominic bit his tongue when his grandmother cast him a look. He glanced in Heaven's direction, and when he saw she was nodding at him, he chose to shut up.
'This is why I hate being at fault,' he thought, marching toward the sofa to give Heaven and Grandma Zhu some space. He grumpily rested his leg over the other, a bit frustrated he couldn't argue with his grandmother.
If this was under a different circumstance, he would tell his grandmother she might overwhelm Heaven. However, someone harmed Heaven in the comforts of their home. Whether or not Dominic wanted to, the responsibility and blame would still be on him.

Dominic felt his phone vibrate, adjusting his position to fish it out from his back pocket. As soon as he saw who was calling him, Dominic excused himself and stepped out of the private ward for a bit.

Heaven could do nothing when Dominic stepped out. Not that she had a problem with Old Madam Zhu's company. The elder of the Zhu Family prepared the table over Heaven's bed, telling her to eat as much as she could to recover as fast as she could.
Heaven could tell that Old Madam Zhu brought her a healthy lunch meant for her to recover as quickly as possible. This gesture touched her heart, eating happily even though Dominic kept feeding her since she woke up.
"This is why I kept telling Dominic to add more security in his place." Old Madam Zhu sighed heavily while Heaven was gobbling up the food as if the latter's stomach had enough space. "If only that boy had listened to me, this will not happen. My poor child. Why did you have to go through this?"
Heaven blinked, turning her head in Old Madam Zhu's direction with the spoon inside her mouth.
"He is always the type to wait for things to happen and learn the hard way. That boy is truly a stubborn fool," Old Madam Zhu continued, grumbling, displaying how she indirectly blamed Dominic for this incident. "Fortunately, you were alright."
Looking back, Heaven was aware the old residence was filled with bodyguards. Unlike the lax security of Dominic's home, Heaven couldn't count how much security there was in the old residence. Dominic also mentioned it in passing when he hired the bodyguards not long ago.
According to him, he didn't want to fill his home with bodyguards like his grandmother. However, he wanted to hire Bear for extra protection, at least. It only showed Dominic didn't like having too many people watching him and his family unless it was necessary.
It was the very reason Heaven dug about it while she was digging up information about Andrew Song. The information might come in handy in the future. After all, Heaven already thought that since Dominic was slowly giving her power in the family, she should do something or know something to deal with the people around them to establish her position.
'Grandma Zhu like me for the very reason I gave birth to Basti,' thought Heaven, keeping her eyes on Old Madam Zhu while the latter was still complaining. 'She protected this family and went head to head against men in power to solidify the family's position. In other words, she can dislike me with a snap of a finger if I brought shame to the family she protected.'
"That child!" Old Madam Zhu huffed grumpily. "He should think about his family — especially his son."
"Don't worry, Grandma." Heaven smiled despite the thoughts that went through her head. Those thoughts weren't enough to distance herself from Dominic's grandmother. If anything, she liked that quality of Old Madam Zhu because she could relate.
"Dominic already learned his lesson, and I also learned mine," she continued gently. "This will not happen next time. If it did, we might need the best lawyer in the world because I'm afraid you will have to visit me then in another place."
Old Madam Zhu arched her brow, narrowing her eyes at Heaven. But the latter simply grinned brightly, as if she just didn't say something heavy and dark.
