Clean up
1 "Madam, you've been quiet." Butler Fu noticed as he stared at Old Madam Zhu on the other side of the vehicle.
They stayed in the hospital for over an hour with Old Madam Zhu pampering Heaven to rotten. But even though Old Madam Zhu was in an excellent mood, she was oddly quiet.
"Were you lonely to have left the young miss? Do you want to spend more time with her?" asked the Butler while Old Madam Zhu kept her eyes on the window. "You are very fond of the young miss, after all."
"Ernie, what were your thoughts about little Heaven?"
Butler Fu raised his brows at the Old Madam's question. "My thoughts about the young miss were always been the same, Madam. Although she seemed different recently," he answered, comparing Heaven to how she was in the past.
Butler Fu thought it was just his imagination. After all, the last time he saw Heaven was when Old Madam Zhu collapsed upon hearing the news of their plans for divorce. Lots of things happened. But today, he was certain something about Heaven changed.
Just like Butler Fu, Old Madam Zhu had the same thought as him.
Back then, Heaven was just meek and detached. Even if she doesn't say it, she was easily overwhelmed by anyone from the Zhu Family. The very reason Old Madam Zhu was very careful and welcoming to Heaven was so the latter would feel comfortable around them. But alas, Heaven just consistently distanced herself from the family.
Now, Heaven was…
"I think the young master and the young madam's relationship had improved," said Butler Fu as he finally pointed out what he thought was a huge factor in this change of atmosphere between Dominic and Heaven. "It seemed they mended their problem, which I am glad to see. I'm certain you are as well glad that the young master cares more about his wife now."
"All I want for Dominic is to become happy with his marriage," Old Madam Zhu admitted without casting the Butler a look. "But it seemed he married an interesting lady."
"Pardon?"
The corner of Old Madam Zhu's lips stretched as she slowly turned her head in the Butler's direction. "It seemed we have a misconception of Little Heaven, Butler Fu. I learned something today, which I hope is not wrong."
Butler Fu furrowed his brows, assessing the relieved smile plastered on the old madam. He had worked for this woman almost all his life; he didn't even get married because he devoted his life to the Old Madam of the Zhu family. Therefore, he could discern what sort of smile that was.
Old Madam Zu was somehow more interested in Heaven now.
Thinking back, Old Madam Zhu liked Heaven because the latter was Dominic's wife. Because of Dominic's attitude, everyone in the Zhu Family had always been worried Dominic wouldn't marry, let alone have a child. So, when Dominic suddenly announced his marriage and that they were expecting, everyone was surprised to their core, but Old Madam Zhu was glad, nonetheless.
And simply because of that, even when Heaven's personality was something that didn't suit the family, Old Madam Zhu ignored it. She even went so far as to threaten anyone in the family who would dare compare Heaven to Ivy Wei, the woman whom everyone assumed was the perfect fit for Dominic.
The point being was, what could've compelled Old Madam Zhu to say such words now? What did Heaven do?
Old Madam Zhu didn't explain herself as she chuckled, peeling her eyes from Butler Fu.
'It seemed there's no need to worry about Dominic,' she told herself, remembering Heaven. 'I knew it. There was something special about her that that brat hide from us. He could've told me, though. Surely, that boy is something else.'
Little did Old Madam Zhu know Dominic was just as clueless. For Dominic, Heaven just changed for the better. Dominic hadn't glimpsed at what the Old Madam Zhu saw in Heaven's eyes because they weren't for him but for the Old Madam Zhu to see.

"I'm so full." Heaven felt so stuffed she felt paralyzed on the bed. She turned her head to the seat near the bed, and her eyes instantly fell on Dominic.
He had his leg resting over the other, reading something on his tablet with a serious face. Since Old Madam Zhu came and left, Dominic took advantage of it to do his work.
"Daddy, are you sure you don't need to go to the office?"
Dominic slowly raised his brows as he looked over the tablet. "What did you just call me?"
"Daddy?" Heaven fluttered her eyelashes coquettishly. "Just so you know, having sex is not advisable to me right now."
"…" Then why tease him?
Dominic sighed, telling himself such an endearment shouldn't affect him. "It's alright. I'm just tracking something. Though I need to make a phone call in a bit."
"Oh." Heaven rocked her head in understanding.
"You should rest more," he suggested. "I'll go out if I'm too loud."
"It's okay. You can stay unless you need some privacy." Heaven smiled. "To be honest, I'm a little bored. I'd rather watch you work all day and appreciate just how beautiful you are."
"I will step out." His answer was quick, making her frown. "Heaven, it's not good if you keep up with your advances."
'But I'm not flirting, though. I'm just being honest.' Heaven bit her tongue. 'How was it my fault you are easy to seduce?'
The thought that suddenly crossed her mind made her squint her eyes suspiciously. 'How come no one attempted to climb his bed? He's so easy to seduce, after all.'
"That look on your face tells me you're thinking something weird." Dominic snapped his tongue, moving to the edge of the bed languidly. "Do you want to see what I'm doing here?"
Dominic adjusted himself to her side while Heaven looked at him with a tinge of surprise.
"Huh?" she blinked countless times.
"You said you were bored." He shrugged. "I don't know if you think this is fun, but it doesn't make me bored."
Heaven slowly set her eyes on Dominic's tablet, only to see statistics that appeared important. "Are you sure you should be showing this to me?"
"Why?"
"It looks important."
"So?"
Heaven and Dominic stared at each other until she realized he hadn't figured out her concern. This data wasn't something others should be seeing, and she knew that from experience. Not unless Dominic trusts her this much.
'Well.' The side of her lips stretched, leaning closer to him. "I don't understand what's in it, but having you here is just as fun."
Dominic simply chuckled and then explained the data to her. He didn't have to, though, but he still did since he didn't know Heaven would know.
And just like that, the two of them went by with their day just spending it together.

[Zhu Mansion]
"This… what is this?" Bear was squatting, his pair of silver eyes glinted as he held a severed rope in his hand. He accidentally found it under the shelf in the wine cellar.
Deep lines appeared between his brows, recalling that Andrea had visible bruises around her wrists, arms, and ankles. He could immediately tell she was held captive, but according to the police's investigation, some gang members abducted Andrea.
Bear studied the rope and he could tell something blunt severed it and in a desperate attempt at that. There was a visible bloodstained on it, proving it was used to tie someone up. But what stole his attention wasn't the blood or how it was severed, but the knots.
He recognized this method of knotting and how dangerous it was if someone was tied with it. It was also troublesome to do, but he knew someone who had a habit of tying even the simplest things this way.
"Boss."
