Heaven weakly opened her eyes, catching the high ceiling in an instant. She blinked and then closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before reopening her eyes.0

'Ah...' She instinctively placed her hand on her stomach. 

"Grandma," she called, seeing a figure from the corner of her eyes. "Is my baby fine?"

"The baby is alright, thankfully." Grandma Zhu pressed her thin lips, staring at her granddaughter-in-law's side profile. "The doctor said the baby is holding on tightly. However, it's best if you don't stress yourself out for the baby's sake."

'For the baby's sake...'Heaven repeated in her mind, keeping her eyes fixed on the ceiling and her hand on her stomach. 'How about your big brother?'

"How about Dom?" she asked quietly, and Grandma Zhu didn't hold back any information. 

"He went out to settle some matters," said Grandma Zhu, glancing at the shut door. "I don't think he will be back tonight since he needs to bring home Sebastian."

"I see..." Heaven closed her eyes, watching her calm breaths. 

When Heaven received the news, she felt like her heart had stopped beating. Her mind went totally blank before her stomach ached until darkness embraced her like an old friend. 

"Grandma." After minutes of silence, Heaven's quiet voice was heard again. "If you are in my situation, what will you do?"

She reopened her eyes, only to gaze at the high ceiling. "Will you also sit idly by, waiting for news with bated breaths, and wondering whether this news is good or bad?"

Grandma Zhu didn't answer immediately.

"As a mother... I will do anything for my children," she said. "If you want to go and see everything, then my naptime is in five minutes. Even so, don't dare go out, Little Heaven. The doctor said you should rest and avoid stress, so you should get more sleep. Let your husband handle it. I'm a light sleeper, so I'll wake up if you sneak out."

The corner of Heaven's lips curled up into a smile, propping her elbows against the mattress to sit up. When she sat up, Grandma Zhu was already leaning comfortably on the chair she was sitting on. 

"Thank you, Grandma," she whispered and her eyes softened at the 'napping' Grandma Zhu. 

'Baby...'Heaven gazed down as she placed her hand on her tummy once again. 'Thank you for interfering and calming Mommy down. However, can you hold on to Mommy? Your big brother needs us, so... you have to be strong.'

Heaven nodded at her stomach reassuringly before determination shone in her eyes. She didn't waste time removing the IVs on the back of her hand. As soon as she flung her legs out of the bed, she noticed a paper bag on the coffee table in the private ward. 

'Huh?' She pushed herself away, marching to check the paper bag. The second she discovered its content, Heaven turned her head in Grandma Zhu's direction. "Grandma..."

When Heaven finished changing her clothes — the one Grandma Zhu brought — she didn't hesitate to leave the private ward. She wasn't even careful, as if she wasn't afraid of getting found out. Much to her surprise, there was only one person guarding the hallway.

Tiger.

"Oh?" Tiger lifted his head as the door opened, only to see Heaven closing the door behind her. "You really came, huh?"

"Why are you here?" she arched a brow. 

"Well, the head butler took the guards to the intensive care unit. So, I was left behind." Tiger had his arms folded under his chest, peeling his back from the wall. "If you're looking for Mr. Cruel, he tagged along with your husband. He will help with the investigation, I think."

"Is that so?" Heaven rocked her head before taking a stay away from the private ward.

"Where are you going?" asked Tiger, watching her walk past him before he followed her. "Do you know you shouldn't be walking around, young madam? You're pregnant and you might kill your baby if you stay stubborn."

"Keep running your mouth." Heaven didn't stop, nor did she slow down in her tracks. "Who knows when you'll lose your tongue?"

"Ehh..." Tiger bit his tongue and smacked his lips, staring at her back while keeping a two-step distance from her. "Young Madam, you shouldn't be like that, you know? At least tell me where you're planning to go. It's not like I will stop you — you're the boss!"

"To where Dom is."

"Oh..." Tiger rocked his head. "Where is he?"

This time, Heaven didn't say anything. It wasn't like she had anything to say. Moreover, she wasn't in the mood for chitchat. 

As Heaven and Tiger reached the hospital's lobby, they saw Axel going inside. 

"Huh?" Axel looked up at the two figures approaching from the opposite direction. "Sis?"

Axel paused in his tracks, watching Heaven and Tiger advance in his direction. However, Heaven didn't stop in front of him and simply walked past him. It was as though she didn't see him.

"What?" He looked back, only to see Heaven not stopping for anyone. "Sis!"

Axel jogged his way to catch up. "Sis, where are you going? Are you okay? I mean, you should be resting! Where's Grandma?"

"She's napping, Axel. Don't tell her I snuck out."

"What —" Axel clutched the brown paper bag he was hugging, following Heaven. Studying her side profile, Axel could see how her eyes burned. "Sis, you can't just… You aren't allowed to go out yet."

"If you're going to stop me as well, then you better put your life on the line." Heaven kept her eyes ahead, expressions sharp. "I will not stop for anyone, Axel. Anyone who stands in my way will get run over. I won't stop you from tagging along, but you better shut your mouth."

"Heh…" Tiger snickered, warranting a glare from the second young master. He shrugged, picking up his pace as he jogged ahead, opening the door for the two of them. 

Heaven didn't even cast Tiger a look as she stepped out of the establishment. Meanwhile, Axel glared at Tiger for the second time but still followed Heaven for a reason he also didn't know. And just like that, the three of them headed to the police station to see if there was any progress.
