She knew that.

Heaven knew that after this, she couldn't buy herself more time. Dominic would want answers whether she was ready or not. He deserved the truth, even if the results of that truth terrified her more than the shower of bullets coming ahead, she had to come clean.

"We're almost there," she murmured, seeing that they were coming in close. "Axel, slow down a bit. There's a pillar and wall several meters from the entrance. With this speed, we can't crash into it."

"I know!" Axel yelled back, holding his breath as he braced himself for impact. He squinted his eyes for a bit, but didn't dare close them. Fortunately, he focused on the entrance of the blueprint earlier. Therefore, he had an idea of the structure of the ground floor.

Heaven closed her eyes, and she clenched her teeth, taking a deep breath to prepare herself for impact. Meanwhile, Dominic couldn't help but look at his wife.

Right now, there were myriads of questions in his mind. One of them was how Heaven knew about a man known as Joker. There were other more, making him question everything about his wife. Despite having many questions, he extended his arm and ensured her safety by holding her shoulder.

'Huh?'Heaven snapped her eyes open and gazed at Dominic, only to see his sharp eyes on her. However, she couldn't say anything as the force inside shook them almost upside down, helpless by the force the vehicle was going.

Axel bounced violently, pushing himself from the steering wheel while moving it to the side for it to drift. A loud screech penetrated their ears, almost deafening them until a soft clap sounded from their side.

"Hah..." Axel panted for air as he held the steering wheel, and the airbag in front of him set off. His heart thudded against his chest as sweat covered him from head to toe. For a moment, his mind went blank before he quickly snapped back to the current lapse, turning his head to the side.

"Oh, god..." he breathed out in relief, as the side of their car barely stopped before crashing into the wall.

"Ugh..." Heaven winced, feeling her shoulders ache slightly as she bumped her side earlier.

"Are you okay?" Dominic panicked, taking off his seatbelt to check on her.

"Yes." Heaven smiled weakly, hands still on her stomach. "I just hit my side but, I'm okay. Thanks to you."

"Sure?"

"Yes. Hundred percent."

Dominic pressed his lips into a thin line, studying her with shaking eyes. There were no visible wounds, nor there was blood on her. Her complexion was also fine, making him sigh in relief.

"I'll help you out," he said and, without waiting for her reply, he unbuckled her seat. After that, Dominic turned his head in Axel's direction. "Axel, are you okay?"

"Ugh... yes, thankfully." Axel also removed his seatbelt, eyes fixed on Heaven. "So, what now?"

BANG BANG BANG!

Axel almost jumped out of his seat when he heard another round of bullets shooting in their direction. Followed by that sound was Tiger's round of curses as if that was enough to fight off the incoming bullets.

Both Heaven and Dominic looked back, barely seeing sparks and silhouettes through the thick smoke caused by their grand entrance.

"We have to go," he remarked, tugging his arm as she faced him. "Tiger will keep them busy."

Dominic's jaw tightened as if he wanted to argue or wanted to change his mind. However, they were already inside. He couldn't tell her to go back now.

"Right..."

Suddenly, the door on Dominic's side flew open from the outside. Axel's eyes dilated as he gasped, seeing a rogue standing outside in the back seat.

"Dominic -- "

BANG!

Heaven's eyes dilated, resting her arm over Dominic's shoulder with the pistol aimed at the person behind him. She shot the man down, leaving a hole in his forehead. However, there was another hole in the man's cheek before the man fell on his back, dead.

"I..." Gazing down, she caught the rifle in Dominic's hand that was placed beside his torso, aiming at the person who opened the door. "... didn't know you can do that."

"I didn't know you could do that as well," he repeated with a slight sarcasm, looking back at the person lying outside the open door. "I would've died a long time ago if I didn't know the basics of self-defense."

Dominic shrugged, setting his gaze back to her. "Let's go and stay beside me. Don't go on your own."

Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, nodding. To her surprise, Dominic grabbed her hand and helped her out.

'This is so random in this situation,' she thought, staring at him as they got out of the vehicle. Her cheek slightly turned pinkish, a little turned on with this display of fierceness which she had only seen in bed. 'But I think I just fell in love with him all over again.'

'Hormones, get a hold of yourself!'she mentally yelled, shaking her head as they walked over the body lying lifelessly outside the backseat.

"Are you guys okay?!" Just then, Gray turned up from their side in a hurry. "Tiger will distract them. I saw the location where the little master is in."

Heaven and Dominic looked at each other before setting their attention on Gray.

"Axel is still in the driver's seat. Drag him out," Dominic ordered, which was executed almost immediately.

Vroom!

The moment Gray dragged the listless Axel out of the driver's seat, the four of them turned their heads at the other vehicle inside. Tiger wound down the window as he revved up the engine, unleashing his madness as he drove the car in a circular motion, leaving tire tracks on the floor.

Using this opportunity Tiger created, Gray led the three to where Sebastian was held captive, which was on the underground floor.

[UNDERGROUND FLOOR]

"What… are you?" Sebastian held his little hand closer to his chest, staring at the small spider near his swollen foot. The spider had a size about an adult's hand; it scared him at first sight until the spider got closer to him, and he realized it was a robot.

A meticulously crafted robot.

[Can you move, kiddo?]

Sebastian gazed down at the red letters projected from the spider's eyes. "I can't." He shook his head, watching the spider tap one of his legs against the floor as if it was thinking.

[Cover your ears and close your eyes.]

"Huh?" Sebastian furrowed his brows, catching another small version of the spider crawl from the corner and straight underneath the door.

[It's not good for kids.]

Sebastian instinctively shifted his eyes back to the letters from the spider. He pressed his lips into a thin line, covering his ears just as instructed. Just then, the door flew open from the outside.

"Hey--!"

Boogsh!

Sebastian shut his eyes on instinct as the man stepped on the small spider, exploding right then and there. Thick fluid and flesh reached Sebastian's vantage point, but he kept his eyes shut. When the little master peeked from his eyes, he saw specks of blood on him and then some flesh scattered inside the cramped room and outside.

[Sorry about that, but I can't carry you with this toy.]

Speechless, Sebastian caught another message from the big spider near his foot. He pressed his lips upon seeing the message from whoever was controlling the spider robot.

"It's okay," he whispered, covering his ears and then shutting his eyes. 0

The spider gazed at the little boy and then at the other boy resting on his lap. He had been watching this boy since earlier and witnessed how Sebastian dragged his friend despite his condition.

"Huh?" Sebastian peeked one of his eyes at the spider, smiling subtly as it played a soothing sound for him to relax. "Thank you."
