[BREAKING NEWS: THE RETIRED GENERAL FOUND DEAD IN HIS HOME!]0
Heaven stopped in the middle of the living area. Holding a cup of milk in her hand, she faced the screen with furrowed brows.
"Huh?" she whispered, tilting her head to the side. "Suicide?"
According to the newsflash, the general was found hanging in his room. Investigators were finding any traces of foul play, but they immediately concluded it was suicide. The news reporter immediately followed for possible reasons the newly retired general took his own life.
Just recently, the general was forced to vacate his seat because he was under an investigation. Some bad news about the general came out to the public and thus, he had to resign. But somehow, the investigation showed proof of the general's corruptness and indecency. Therefore, they concluded he had taken his life instead of going behind bars.
"Good morning, my love."
Heaven was brought back to the current lapse when Dominic's hot breath caressed the shell of her ear. She glanced over her shoulder and Dominic already snaked his arms around her from behind, planting a kiss on her cheek, and then glancing at the news she was watching.
"Good morning indeed," he remarked, seeing that the news was about the death of the retired general.
"Hmm..." Heaven narrowed her eyes at him. "Good morning?"
"Mhm." Dominic didn't dwell on the news as his lips curled up, setting his eyes on her side profile. "Did you have a good sleep?"
"Uh..." Heaven slowly moved, facing him. "Did you order someone to kill the general?"
That question came out too... casual.
Dominic stared at his wife and shook his head. "No, I didn't order someone to kill him."
"Then why don't I believe you?"
"I wanted to kill him myself."
"..." For a second, Heaven was lost for words. When would he stop this habit of giving bits of answers instead of telling it in one go?
"You... killed him?" she repeated in a questioning tone, and this time, he shrugged like a behaved puppy. "Why?"
This time, Dominic furrowed his brows as he tilted his head to the side. What did she mean, why? Was she asking because she truly didn't know? Or was that a question about something else?
Dominic still answered her anyway. "Personal grudge."
"Oh... if you say it like that, then how am I supposed to look like the immaculate wife?"
"?"
"Never mind." Heaven waved dismissively as she shook her head, smiling at him. "Do you want breakfast?"
"Mhm. I'm hungry." Slowly, Dominic's eyes lowered to her stomach.
"Hey!" she snapped her fingers, pressing his chin to look up at her. "I'm on bed rest. Bedrest!"
"I didn't say anything yet."
"But your eyes already told me what you want." She squinted her eyes suspiciously while Dominic glided his eyes to the corner. "Come. I'll make you breakfast and --"
"I'll do it." Dominic stopped her mid-sentence, offering her a kind smile before planting a kiss on her forehead. "I'll make you breakfast. You should rest more."

Heaven had to always keep her baby in mind, and thus, she chose not to argue with Dominic. Although Miriam came just right after Dominic proposed to make breakfast, he still insisted on serving his wife. So now, Heaven could only watch her husband move around the kitchen from the counter.
"Why is he so perfect? So dreamy? And why am I so lucky?" she wondered to herself, cupping her cheek, admiring the beautiful man in an apron. "You tell me if you need help."
Dominic looked back and smiled. "Thanks, but no thanks. I can manage."
"If that's what you say!" Another minute of silence followed until her brows perked up. "Did you get anything?"
"Hmm?"
"You didn't do that without getting anything, right?"
Dominic didn't answer immediately as he focused on the pan while sauteing something. "Is someone listening?"
"I won't ask if there is." Heaven glanced over her shoulder. "Don't worry."
"I did get information. Mr. Cruel gave me the idea of what to do."
Heaven set her attention back to him, brows raised. She kept her eyes on his broad back, listening to the story he was telling her.

[FLASHBACK]
"You chose to sacrifice my family and almost succeeded. That alone… is enough to make me want to kill you. A thousand times isn't enough."
When Dominic kicked the table, he watched the general struggle to extend his life. He felt no remorse even when the general's face turned beet red and his lips turned purple. But before the general could die, he snapped his eyes at Bear.
Bear didn't say anything as he immediately marched toward the center of the bedroom. He dragged the table back, holding the flinching feet of the general to put them on the surface of the table.
"Hah!!!" The General gasped for air, still holding onto the noose. He almost died. His heart was racing in both fear and panic, and his entire body looked shiny due to sweat. When he recovered slightly, he gazed down at the unfazed Dominic.
"Not yet," was the first thing Dominic uttered. "Until you tell me everything you know, then you'll experience going back and forth from the doors of hell to life."
The general's entire body tensed up at the thought. His eyes were wide at Dominic, assessing the latter's face. Dominic wasn't joking. He would really do it.
"Mr — Mr. Zhu…" the general's lips quivered as he felt his toes grow colder.
"Who changed your mind, General?" Dominic stressed, keeping his feet on the edge of the table. Ready to kick it if the general still gave him the same nonsense.
"I…" the general's voice shook as his breath hitched. "It's… No One."
"Huh?"
"He calls himself No One!" the general quickly clarified before Dominic could kick the table again. "I never met him in person, but from my own investigation, he got the biggest syndicate in the underground! I didn't want to work with him — believe me! But he didn't give me a choice, Mr. Zhu! He got my hands tied and —"
Before the general could pull up whatever victim cards he had, Dominic kicked the table away. And again, the general struggled for oxygen, only for another person to put him back on the surface."
"I'm not interested in that," said Dominic while the general gasped for air. "Tell me about this person. This… No One."
