Su Xiaomu had his backpack on his back, a reusable shopping bag hung around his neck, and his arms were full of food, making him look like a stuffed koala...
A glint flashed in Su Xiaomu's eyes as he looked towards that person, a dark shadow passing through them. Then, quietly, he opened a door within the mall. Sure enough, four or five zombies, smelling fresh prey, shuffled out...
"Help! Help!" The koala yelled while running, seemingly panicked and disorganized, his speed neither fast nor slow...
Su Xiaomu ran up to Zhao Sheng, beaming brightly. "A return gift for you!" After saying this, he instantly slipped around a corner and vanished.
Seeing the approaching zombies, Zhao Sheng gritted his teeth in fury, but had no time to dwell on it now... Dealing with so many zombies at once was difficult for him.
One zombie had a relatively clean face, aside from its bluish-purple complexion, it seemed almost normal. It lunged at Zhao Sheng, its long nails gleaming darkly.
Zhao Sheng, wielding a machete, ducked as the zombie reached for him, rolling sharply to the right... narrowly avoiding zombies closing in from the front and left.
"Chop!" Zhao Sheng hacked off the legs of the zombie behind him. Dark purple-red liquid spilled everywhere, but the zombie wasn't dead. Its head lurched forward, threatening to sink its teeth into Zhao Sheng's neck...
Kneeling on the ground, Zhao Sheng used the leverage from below, "Crack!" He flipped sideways several times, dodging the zombie's bite.
Cold sweat poured down his forehead, his lips pressed tightly together. Zhao Sheng's back was completely soaked. This was his first time fighting multiple zombies, and he'd only managed to kill one so far.
Su Xiaomu watched coldly from a corner as the zombies surrounded Zhao Sheng, showing no intention of helping. "Whack!" He spun around, his stick whistling through the air, striking the head of a zombie trying to sneak up on him.
A cold shiver ran down his spine. Su Xiaomu scanned the surroundings, spotting more zombies approaching his position. Not daring to delay, he ignored Zhao Sheng and headed straight for the stairs.
Su Xiaomu knew his limits. If it weren't for the water from his space, his speed and strength wouldn't be enough to fight zombies.
Exiting the mall, he spotted a car. It looked heavy and robust. One of the five team members was loading things into it. Su Xiaomu placed his food into the back compartment.
The man gave Su Xiaomu a brief, appraising look, a flicker of surprise deep in his eyes. He hadn't expected Su Xiaomu to come down safely, let alone bring back a decent amount of food.
Su Xiaomu didn't re-enter the mall. He panted heavily, leaning against the car door, bent over.
"Got water?" His voice was hoarse as he asked the person beside him.
"Wang Xin..." The man identified himself, then pulled a water bottle from his belt and handed it to Su Xiaomu.
Su Xiaomu didn't stand on ceremony. He unscrewed the cap and gulped down the water. It wasn't as good as the water from his space, but it was better than nothing, and he didn't want to expose his space.
Wang Xin wore a black fitted shirt. He had a rugged face, thick eyebrows slightly raised, and his eyes were alert, scanning for any potential zombies.
Su Xiaomu continued to observe him. His arms looked powerful, clearly someone who could fight... he mused silently.
Neither spoke. The atmosphere was strangely quiet. The wind rustled discarded newspapers on the ground, making a dry, rasping sound...
Time seemed to stretch on, yet perhaps only minutes passed before several figures burst out of the mall, looking ragged... One was covered in jet-black blood.
"Go!" Zhang Yi barked at Zhao De, who immediately jumped into the driver's seat...
Su Xiaomu glanced at Zhao Sheng, curling his lip. Though Zhao Sheng's face was deathly pale, he didn't seem seriously injured. When their eyes met, Zhao Sheng shot him a fierce glare.
Then, Su Xiaomu saw a huge crowd of zombies chasing them out...
