"It's alright." Lu Che took a deep breath. "We're going to perform vessel suturing." At this time, a clear and crisp voice was heard, "Do not stop the surgery. I will recalibrate the machine."2

All the doctors looked at Qin Yan in shock. Lu Che immediately stopped her, "Stop! Do not touch any of the machines!"

"Doctor Lu, trust me, I can do it. Also if not me, nobody here is free enough to do this job," Qin Yan said calmly.

Qin Yan's calm gaze made Lu Che's mind to waver. She was right. Nobody else was free to do this stuff. And anyhow the machine was flawed. How much would it matter if Qin Yan couldn't do it!

Things had spiraled out of hand but that was just the beginning. Suddenly there was yelling from outside the operating theater.

"Are you operating on our Sister Lei?"

"Can this hospital take responsibility if something happens to her?"

"Call the doctor out! Or else we will destroy this hospital!"

"What is happening outside?" Lu Che's face was dark. This group of nurses is not suitable for this hospital. I have to discuss with the director to change for a new batch of staff after this operation.

"Doctor Lu, Xu Lei's fans have gathered outside. There is a rumor online that our hospital has agreed to operate on Xu Lei for the sake of money even though we can't really help him. The rumors even said that Mr. Xu Dong has hired some hack doctor to perform the surgery to harm Xu Lei. Therefore, the fans are angry." The nurse had never seen something like this before. She was very afraid.

"Leave the things outside to Xu family, we need to focus." Lu Che began the suturing carefully. If he made a mistake, it would affect Xu Lei's recovery.

"This hospital owes us an explanation."

"These people are crazy! How dare they do this to Sister Xu Lei!" The fans shouted as they banged against the theater door. If not for the hospital guards, the fans would have charged into the theater already.

"Do you think what you're doing is actually good for Xu Lei?" A male voice demanded.

Xu Dong walked out with Father Xu following behind. He didn't expect to face this circus. What is wrong with these young fans? Don't they have classes to attend?

He ignored his thoughts as he knew that the most important thing now was to deal with these fans and return peace to this place.

Xu Dong stood before the fans, "Everyone in our family knows about this surgery. Do you think that we will harm our family member? Also the main surgeon is not as the rumors say. We have invited the famous Doctor Lu Che to help my sister. The lady is only in there to observe the surgical process."

"How can the lady understand what the surgeon is doing? Why is she in there?"

Hearing that question, Xu Dong nodded with satisfaction, "At least, she understands enough that she shouldn't shout during the operation to interrupt the surgeon."

The male fan was silenced instantly. He opened his mouth but nothing came out.

Suddenly, Xu Dong caught a strange guy in the crowd. He wasn't as agitated as the other fans and his gaze kept wandering towards the operation theatre.

After the noise quieted down, Lu Che picked up speed. Qin Yan had re-calibrated the machine properly surprising everyone.

Lu Che was highly focused and his mind was clear. His hands only trembled slightly. The other doctors were doing everything they could to raise Xu Lei's blood pressure. Lu Che's eyes sharpened. He looked at the blood vessels in his hands. The other doctors were impressed. It was like Lu Che could see the direction of the blood vessels.

Lu Che moved 1 cm from the pubic bone and started to work. Since this was a highly demanding operation, his body started to tremble from pressure.

The junior doctor gave Xu Lei a shot and stood beside the machine.

After all the blood vessels had been sutured, Lu Che had the other doctors check if Xu Lei's legs were of even length. After getting an affirmative answer, Lu Che gave the next order, "We'll start the sewing now."

Even though the machine had caused a mere 2 mm deviation, it had affected the nerves, blood vessels, bone conduction, bone mucous membranes, and many other issues. Lu Che was soaked in sweat. The nurse felt worried for Lu Che but she didn't dare to disturb her. She only came to dab away Lu Che's sweat.

Qin Yan had absolute faith in Lu Che. Since he could come up with the bio-compatible bone, then this small accident should be no problem for him. Lu Che sewed back the thigh muscles. Qin Yan understood that the surgery was about to end. The other doctors started to take down notes and nodded to themselves.

For some reason, when Lu Che saw the implanted bone wrapped up under Xu Lei's skin, his heart suddenly pounded.

"Scalpel." Suppressing the nervousness, Lu Che accepted the scalpel. He signaled for the nurse to pull Xu Lei's skin tight. This was to create the smallest scar on Xu Lei. Complicated as it was, it was the fastest way for recovery. Lu Che took a deep breath and made his incision.

So slow… Xu Dong glanced at the time. Father Xu and Mother Xu gave him no reply.

Inside the theater, even the doctors who observed Lu Che thought. He's too slow.

One of the resident doctors voiced it out loud. "Why is he going so slow?"

They thought observing the surgery would be helpful to their studies but they didn't expect the surgery to be so long.

"This is normal." A senior doctor said with a hint of admiration. "The first time I performed such a complicated surgery, I was very slow too. See, Doctor Lu Che is still very precise but he is very careful."

"The operation is over." Lu Che had no idea how much time had passed. Qin Yan nodded in admiration. He really lived upto his name.

Xu Lei was pushed out from the theater. Looking at the numbers, Qin Yan felt better. Doctor Lu Che shrugged off the coat. Walking out from the theater, he ran into Xu parents' pale faces and Xu Dong's nervous face.

"She's out! She's out! Hey, don't squeeze!" The fans got excited but the guards still guarded at the door and refused to let them pass.

Seeing this, Lu Che coughed. "Enough! Do you know where you are? This is the hospital. Xu Lei is fine now. You can see her after she recovers. She just came out from surgery. If you want her to die, then I will let you in now. But her family will sue you for murder. Don't say I didn't warn you." Lu Che's words were unsightly but it was true.

Finally, it returned some sense to the fans.

Lu Che turned to the Xu family and uttered again, "The surgery was successful."

Qin Yan stood beside Lu Che and revealed a warm smile towards the Xu family.

When the Xu parents heard that their daughter's surgery was successful, they grabbed Lu Che and Qin Yan's hands and thanked both of them repeatedly.

While Xu Lei was resting, Mother Xu studied her wounds and legs. Even though she was nervous when she saw the surgical cuts, she did cry with happiness when she realized her legs were finally of the same length again. She thought that her daughter would be crippled for life. She didn't think that a miracle could happen.

"Mrs. Xu, don't get too agitated. The legs are of the same length now but whether Miss Xu can walk or not, it still needs to depend on post-op recovery." Qin Yan told Mother Xu seriously. This was something that worried her the most.

Mother Xu got worried again after hearing Qin Yan's words.

Ten minutes later, Doctor Lu Che returned to the ward holding something.
