It could be inherited but for someone who has lived the harsh life of a pirate, she doubted he would look so fine. His men didn't. And there was the smell she could not ignore. As a dragon female, it was her specialty to smell and pick a good male to breed with. One who would pass on the good strong qualities for survival.
