Clearing her name

"What should we do with those comments?" Wen Liling irritatedly asked, "Why aren't the students who manage the forum delete those kinds of comments?"0

Jiang Xiu responded, "I don't think they would delete it. You know another case of this happened about a written paper that was plagiarized. The forum moderators didn't delete the posts about the incident to warn the students about plagiarism."

"Then we'll just gonna let them cuss Big Brother Yue?"

They all fell silent since they had no idea how to handle the situation, and Wan Zhu could only curse under his breath.

Seeing their reactions, Jiang Yue couldn't help but ask, "Are you not going to question me if I made those notes?"

With her query, the others raised their heads, and she could see in their eyes that they didn't have the least bit of doubt in her.

"Why would you lie about it?"

"Well, you said that you made so that's it!"

"Besides, you didn't sell those notes. It was them who got their hands on it and now they're making a fuss. Those ungrateful—" Wen Liling wanted to cuss but she restrained herself, "—schoolmates!"

"Don't worry Brother Yue we believe you! Although it's quite questionable why your handwriting was different from the notes, but nah! I'm a blind follower of you at this point!" Jiang Yue pursed her lips in response to Wan Zhu's words, her eyes glinting at him

This guy makes her wonder what goes in his head.

"Actually, Brother Yue, I know a way we can settle it," Kang Jinhai remarked, drawing everyone's attention to him.

"What?"

"Let's just threaten those moderators, and see if they won't delete it!"

Wen Liling rolled her eyes and Wan Zhu flicked the guy's forehead.

"You're not helping," Jiang Xiu stated which made Kang Jinhai's mouth droop down.

"That was a genuine suggestion, though!"

"Then don't do it again," Jiang Yue commented.

Seeing that they aren't questioning her about the notes, she took the initiative to explain, "I did make it. The handwriting was different because I used my right hand on writing the assignments and my left hand on writing the notes."

"Ah, it would have been better if you just didn't explain Brother Yue, now it has made me feel useless again!" Wan Zhu cried out, and Jiang Xiu frowned at him.

"Why should my sister adjust just to make you feel better?"

"Let's focus on the problem at hand right now," Gao Tian sternly said, prompting the others to straighten their backs.

"Then what shall we do, Sister?"

Jiang Yue raised her brow and leaned on the chair.

Her fingers lightly tapped the table as she thought about it, after a few seconds, she decided the best course of action, "We'll do nothing."

"Ah?"

"Brother Yue, I think you have a thing for being degraded," Wan Zhu commented which only earned him a glare from the girl.

"That's brilliant!" Kang Jinhai exclaimed, "Let's just kill 'em with kindness."

"No," Jiang Yue immediately intercepted, "You'll do nothing, I'll handle this."

How did he even come up with that?

Jiang Xiu, upon hearing her words, commented, "Sister, you don't have to handle everything on your own. Even though we can't offer much, we can still help you to the best of our abilities."

Jiang Yue was somehow stumped with her sister's words.

"Yeah, if you would just let me handle this then I could have settled this by now," Kang Jinhai said but no one paid attention to him.

At this point, they know that nothing good comes out of that guy's mouth.

Jiang Yue nodded merely to put their minds at ease.

Although she prefers to deal with issues alone, having others help her isn't such a bad thing.

"Then we'll talk about it later, let's eat first."

The others agreed as well and they went back to talking about light topics.

However, her words didn't come true as they did not have the chance to because Jiang Yue was summoned to the office.

Someone had reported the notes plagiarism incident to the school for academic dishonesty.

Jiang Yue entered the office, and in addition to Zhu Lin, Class One's adviser and the head of the school's academic judicial committee, another teacher and Class Eleven's Adviser, Meng Deming, were present.

She greeted the teachers and stood aside, waiting for them to begin speaking.

"Tell us the truth, did you make this or not?" Zhu Lin firmly questioned, pushing the photocopied notes on the table towards Jiang Yue.

Meng Deming scowled when he heard her tone of voice, "Teacher Zhu, it is still uncertain if Student Jiang copied those notes, so please be mindful of your attitude."

Zhe Lin scowled at the old man's words but she still adjusted her attitude, "It would have been fine if you didn't claim that this is your work since these are only notes and aren't your output for a subject but a lot of students has reported this incident so we have to act upon this matter."

"Teacher Zhu, may I ask if you've already found the source of my notes?" Jiang Yue said, leaving Zhu Lin stumped.

Hearing no response from her, she then continued, "Then you can't accuse me of plagiarizing when there isn't even any paper out there that was the same as mine."

Zhu Lin's brows furrowed as she retorted, "But there is proof that you didn't make those notes, so that is enough to accuse you of plagiarizing. It could have been done by anyone and wasn't posted on the internet, claiming other people's work as your own is still plagiarizing."

Jiang Yue hearing her reasons didn't try to retort anymore and merely asked, "Then I have to provide evidence that I made those notes to clear my name?"

Zhu Lin nodded and another teacher suggested, "Should we let her write and judge by her handwriting?"

Jiang Yue, upon hearing her words, proposed, "How about you ask me questions instead that are similar to what I've written? If I just prove my innocence merely through handwriting, the students will run their mouths about how I only copied the notes' handwriting."

Zhu Lin agreed as this is what she is thinking also.

"Then we'll ask you questions and if you get one question wrong, you'll be under probation for the remaining school days. If you can't make evident progress according to the school's criteria, you'll be suspended."

Meng Deming's heart sank with her words, "Isn't that too much for a punishment, Teacher Zhu? It isn't a subject output so we should only put a notation on her transcript."

"It is stated in the student handbook how plagiarism will be dealt with, and it is precisely because it is not a student output that we cannot simply give her a low or failing grade as punishment."

Meng Deming is unable to respond to her statement as he apologetically looks at his student.

He can't do anything about it.

Jiang Yue merely nodded, "It's fine, I'll accept the punishment if I got one question wrong. However, I want someone to be here before I prove my innocence."

"Who is it?"

"The person who posted my assignment paper in the forum."
