The Xia Family disowned the two of them
Wen Liling's brow furrowed as she heard her friend's remarks, "What crap did they say about Brother Yue?"
"What else?" Jiang Xiu responded, "They called her names with what the users on Weibo call her."
Although the girl didn't elaborate on it, Wen Liling understood very well what she meant by the 'names'.
"So it's your group who started it— wait! Of course, it's all of you! When did even Brother Yue and Xiao Xiu start any fights? They're too smart for that!"
The former doesn't care about what other people say about her and the latter is too nice and timid, thus it has to be them!
"You— don't get involved, Wen Liling!" exclaimed one of Class One's fellow students.
"Your class is still shameless until now! It's eight versus two, and you're saying I can't get involved?" she yelled, as the girl's comment was too much for her.
Are they expecting her to just stand there and watch?
What kind of friend would she be if she behaved like that?
"Shut up, who cares about you? You keep interfering in other people's affairs, do you need that much attention?" Lai Li clenched her teeth and glared at the girl at the door.
Shrieks can be heard once again in the hallway when Wen Liling, who was still standing beside the door, seized Lai Li's head and dragged it to the floor, causing the girl to release her grip on Jiang Xiu's hair.
Jiang Yue also removed her hand and took a step back to see the sight unfolding in front of her.
"Wen Liling!"
"You're being too much!"
"For heaven's sake Wen Liling that's enough!"
"Ouch! You bitch stop that! Help me— why are you all just standing there?!" Lai Li cried out as Wen Liling continued to drag the girl's head to the floor.
Her other classmates had already taken a few steps back. They wanted to help but Jiang Yue's glare was enough to freeze them in their place, as they were afraid it would be their hands again that will be crushed.
"What's going on here?" another voice can suddenly be heard in the hallway, forcing everyone to turn their heads in that direction—except for Lai Li, who still has her head bowed due to Wen Liling's grip on her.
"Xia Mingzhou!" The other Class One students rushed over to their classmate as if their savior had arrived.
"Your cousins are way too much! We were just having a discussion and Jiang Xiu just slapped Lai Li!" one of the girls recounted.
Xia Mingzhou's forehead creased and remarked, "They are no longer my cousins, my family disowned them."
Silence enveloped the hallway and the only sound that could be heard was the karaoke music coming from other rooms despite the soundproofing.
"You're not joking?" The girl beside Xia Mingzhou asked, breaking the awkward silence.
Xia Mingzhou shook her head, "I'm not."
"Oh my God..."
"That is not a surprise anymore, who would want a granddaughter like Jiang Yue? Jiang Xiu might have been influenced as well— I mean I had never seen her be this aggressive to anyone before."
"Is it because they knew about what Jiang Yue had been doing? If I had a granddaughter who only knows how to play all day and use men to climb to the top, I'd be embarrassed."
Jiang Yue, who was standing nearby, couldn't help but straighten her back and raise her brow.
It appears that another issue about her will surface.
She turned her head towards Xia Mingzhou.
When she saw the sneer on the girl's face, she knew that the girl intended to let everyone know that they had been disowned when, in fact, it was their decision to cut ties with the Xia Family.
She narrowed her eyes.
'Xia Mingzhou, I think I know what you're up to.'
Just as that thought occurred in her mind, her attention was suddenly caught when she felt a hand on her arm, "Sister, are you okay?" asked Jiang Xiu who has a troubled expression on her face.
Seeing that her sister was presumably concerned about what others were saying about her, she nodded, "I already expected this to happen. Whatever our reason for breaking ties with the Xia Family is, it will never be enough for other people."
Even if they did it for good reasons, many will think they are ungrateful and white-eyed wolves since cutting ties with a family is considered taboo by some and should not be done.
And with her previous issues that were circulating on Weibo, her and Jiang Xiu's matter about 'being disowned' will be taken out of context.
Kang Jinhai and the others looked worriedly at the two Jiang Sisters, as the two's sore point was just exposed to everyone.
They were relieved to observe the two's unbothered expressions—Jiang Xiu has her brows furrowed, but she doesn't look like someone whose sore point had just been poked.
"The Xia family disowned the two of you? Hahaha, you both got what you—" Lai Li mocked, but she couldn't complete her sentence as Wen Liling yanked her hair tighter, causing her to scream in pain.
"Don't grab my hair anymore, you freak!"
"Say one more word, Lai Li, and I guarantee you'll go home bald!" Wen Liling said with gritted teeth, forcing Wan Zhu and the others to grab both her arms, fearful that she would do what she had said.
Wan Zhu couldn't help but say to the girl, "Hey, hey, Wen Liling, let's not do that, it's not a good idea."
The three of them wanted to help, but everyone that was involved was all girls, and they felt that joining would be too much.
"I mean, I love seeing others get into fights, but let's not do that here; aren't we here to celebrate?" Kang Jinhai added to calm their friend down.
"That's enough, let's just go inside," Jiang Yue added, which startled Wen Liling because she had assumed that she would be the one to teach Lai Li a lesson.
What she didn't realize was that Jiang Yue was intending to teach them all a lesson, but it wouldn't be today.
She hesitantly removed both her hands from the girl's hair, which looked like a chicken's nest from how messy it was.
"If any of you say anything more shit—" Wan Zhu pulled Wen Liling towards their karaoke room, "Okay, let's just go. I think you've already scared them enough."
Wen Liling took his hand off her arm and returned to the entrance, her gaze roaming from one person to the next, "Mark my words, I won't hesitate to pull anyone's hair again until none is left!"
Wan Zhu rushed and grabbed her, dragging her back into the room.
Gao Tian shut and locked the door.
The screen installed on the wall was still playing song lyrics, but it was silent.
Wan Zhu seated Wen Liling on the single sofa and stated, "Okay, breathe in breath—"
"Get your hands off me— why are you even making me do a breathing exercise?" Wen Liling said with gritted teeth and shook the hands that were on her shoulders.
"Because you look like you're about to explode! Brother Yue and Jiang Xiu don't seem bothered about it, yet you're more enraged than they are!"
"Then what do you want me to do? Just listen to whatever nonsense that comes out from their mouth?" Wen Liling responded, "Besides that Lai Li just told me that I'm only involving myself because I want some attention, who wouldn't be angry with that?!"
"Yes, yes, I understand what you mean— it was wrong of me to even say anything," Wan Zhu said, knowing that whatever he said would be met with a scolding from the girl.
"But... are the two of you disowned by the Xia Family?" Gao Tian said, drawing the attention of the other three to the two sisters who had remained quiet.
Jiang Xiu answered, "I guess?"
"What do you mean by I guess? You're not sure?" Kang Jinhai questioned as he was shocked when he heard Xia Mingzhou mention it. 2
"It's complicated— but long story short, my grandfather told us that if we go against them, he'll disown us, so we decided to just cut ties with the Xia Family," she replied, prompting the four people's brows to furrow and a confused look to appear on their faces.
"What... but how can he just disown the two of you? Aren't you related to them by blood? You're cousins with Xia Mingzhou, right?" Wen Liling asked.
"What do you mean going against? Why would you go against them?"
Seeing that her sister was hesitating to answer their question as she probably thought that she caused all of it, Jiang Yue answered her friend's question, "Yes, but we aren't related to them now. As for the reason why, we're not comfortable sharing about what happened."
"It's okay, we understand, you don't need to force yourself."
"Just tell us whenever you're ready— and if that day doesn't come, that's fine with us as well."
"But Brother Yue, what are you gonna do now?"
Jiang Yue couldn't help but raise her brow at Wen Liling's question, as she didn't quite understand what she meant, "What am I gonna do now?"
"Class One now knows about the two of you being disowned by the Xia Family— although it was the two of you who cut ties— but, what I mean is, they're bound to leak this matter and may even post this issue on Weibo, adding to your already ruined reputation. What are you going to do about it?"
Jiang Yue shrugged, unconcerned about what happens to her reputation for the time being, however, there is something more concerning, "I don't think that's just what's gonna happen."
"Huh?"
Kang Jinhai couldn't help but yell out, "Brother Yue, just get to the point!"
Jiang Yue stated, "It appears that it won't just be my reputation that's gonna be ruined— Xiao Xiu and your reputation will be dragged through the mud as well."
